About Me

I am a military officer injured in the line of duty. RSD/CRPS came as a result, a second order effect, of the injury that happened in 2007. I am dealing with it the best that I can. It has changed my life. I am divorced after a 10 year relationship and marriage, and have 2 children one in high school and the other in college. I am thankful when I found this site. There is such a need to raise awareness and educate the community about this disease we bear. It is so widely understated, misunderstood even in the medical community. It is great to join this group. My RSD/CRPS is in my Right upper extremity from fingers all the way up my arm and spread to shoulder, neck, left shoulder down to forearm now. My Right arm is hypersensitive to touch, very weak in strength and function. Unable to write with my dominant right hand which I loved writing prior to the injury and continued until it became too painful and the handwriting had become so poor and barely legible. It feels like the flesh has been removed all the way up to the shoulder.

Here is a link to a medical alert id jewelry site that has sportbands that are non-metal against the skin. I am ordering one.
